This beautiful boxed-set publication is unique in contemporary architectural publishing through its reproduction of over seventy of Glenn Murcutt’s drawings at original size. Limited to just 1,000 individually-numbered copies, it is fast becoming a collector’s item.
Housed within the handmade linen-covered solander box are nine volumes. The first volume is a fully illustrated book by Kenneth Frampton (USA) with essays by Juhani Pallasmaa (Finland) and David Malouf (Australia). This is accompanied by eight folders on eight individual projects considered the defining milestones in Glenn Murcutt’s development as an architect.
Each folder holds original size drawings, selected and commented on by Kenneth Frampton, to provide the reader with rich insights into Glenn Murcutt’s working methods and design process from concepts to sketches to plans as well as an up-to-date photo essay in duotone and full colour.

Only twelve 'Special Editions' exist. Each is signed by all the major contributors to the folio, including Kenneth Frampton, Juhani Pallasmaa, David Malouf, and of course, Glenn Murcutt. These books have travelled around the world to collect these historic signatures. Of the twelve, only eight remain for sale. As these rare copies sell down the price of the remaining copies will increase. Two will be released each year, or upon special occasions.
This year, Special Edition numbers #7 (Sold) and #8 have been released to coincide with the awarding of the American Institute of Architects 65th Gold Medal to Glenn Murcutt at the 2009 'Accent on Architecture' Gala in February in Washington, D.C.
